Soma Chaudhuri holds a joint position in Sociology and The School of Criminal Justice.

Research

Dr. Chaudhuri is a qualitative sociologist, specializing on witch hunts, deviant behavior and social movements. Her other research interests are on juvenile delinquency, gender in the developing world, property rights for women, and South Asia.

Some of her current projects include contemporary witch hunts in the tea plantations of India (book manuscript), and the application of the framing perspective on anti witch hunt movements.
