Profile
Research
My research interests are grounded in the conceptual idea that many issues in human dimensions of wildlife management can be framed according to risk, especially the perceived low probability, high visibility events associated with human-wildlife interactions (e.g., a bear-related human fatality). Chief among my areas of research interest are to advance theoretical developments of stakeholder-defined wildlife-related risk, refine risk communication methods, and further understands conceptual frameworks of risk within the context of human dimensions of wildlife research. Specifically, I seek to explore the utility of risk communication theory to inform the design of outreach activities to understand wildlife-related risk perceptions.
