Scholarship Fundraiser

The Tournament of Friendship is a community effort with key support from the Michigan State Police, Michigan State University - School of Criminal Justice, East Lansing Police Department, Lansing School District, Lansing Fire Department, Lansing Community College and the Lansing Area Hispanic Business Association. Established in 1982, the Tournament of Friendship allows us to annually award four $1,500 scholarships to deserving men and women pursuing Criminal Justice and Firefighting careers, through attendance at Lansing Community College and Michigan State University. It is because of the generous support of this event by local community members like you that we are able to continue to provide this assistance to deserving future Michigan Firefighters and Criminal Justice professionals. In addition to the golf outing we hold each Summer, we are hosting a Fundraiser to attempt to generate additional money for our Scholarship Fund. We Need Your Help and it’s EASY to help out...
Because of the drastic increases in tuition costs, combined with the reduction in outside funding available to students through scholarships and grants, the Tournament of Friendship Committee has organized a Fundraiser with Buffalo Wild Wings located in East Lansing (360 Albert Avenue) to generate additional revenue for our annual scholarships. We ask that you please consider helping out by participating in this fundraiser and allowing us to increase the level of monetary support that we offer to these deserving men and women. The Fundraiser will take place on Monday, November 30th, at the East Lansing Buffalo Wild Wings location. The Fundraiser will run all day, from 11:00AM until 2:00AM, so you can come by at any time during these business hours to help out this great cause. The Scholarship Fund will receive 20% of your pre-tax bill for all food and drink orders you purchase during your visit to Buffalo Wild Wings. Come for lunch, come for dinner, order take-out, or even have some drinks during the Monday Night Football game; it all counts. You simply need to present your server with the Flyer (Click on the link at the bottom of this page for the flyer) for this event and the Scholarship Fund will get 20% of your bill. Bring friends, invite co-workers and come and have a great meal for a great cause. If you do not present your server with the flyer, we will not receive credit for your patronage, so please bring your flyer with you. All you have to do is enjoy some great food and you’ll be helping a wonderful cause.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We CANNOT hand out any flyers in front of the restaurant that day, or to anyone already in the restaurant (or heading in) as this will result in immediate disqualification of our Fundraiser. So if you would like to help by passing along our flyer others, please do so BEFORE the event and NOT AT the restaurant itself. THANK YOU...
If you CANNOT attend this event but would like to make a monetary contribution to the Tournament of Friendship Scholarship Fund, simply send a check or Money Order made out to: The Tournament of Friendship, to:

*** We will accept contributions of any amount and 100% of that contribution will go to the scholarship fund – there are NO administrative fees taken out.
